BOTULINUM TOXIN

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, is a popular injectable that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, crow's feet near the eyes. Several other areas have been treated such as thick bands in the neck, thick jaw muscles, lip lines and gummy smiles.

Botulinum toxin is a purified substance that's derived from bacteria. Injections of botulinum toxin block the nerve signals to the muscle in which it was injected. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract. The end result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles or appearance.

Botulinum toxin can be used to

  • Smooth crow's feet, forehead furrows, frown lines, lip lines and bunny lines

  • Diminish neck bands

  • Improve the appearance of skin dimpling of the chin

  • Lift the corners of the mouth

  • Soften a square jawline

  • Correct a gummy smile

DERMABRASION

Minimally Invasive Procedure

Dermabrasion and dermaplaning help to "refinish" the skin's top layers through a method of controlled surgical scraping. The treatments soften the sharp edges of surface irregularities, giving the skin a smoother appearance.

Dermabrasion is most often used to improve the look of facial skin left scarred by accidents or previous surgery, or to smooth out fine facial wrinkles. It's also sometimes used to remove the pre-cancerous growths called keratoses. Dermaplaning is also commonly used to treat deep acne scars.

Both dermabrasion and dermaplaning can be performed on small areas of skin or on the entire face. They can be used alone or in conjunction with other procedures such as facelift, scar removal/revision or chemical peel.

If you're considering surgery to refinish the skin, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure – when it can help, how it's performed and what results you can expect. It cannot, however, answer all of your questions, as much depends on your individual circumstances. Please ask your doctor about anything you do not understand.

Common uses

Dermabrasion can be used to treat scars caused by acne or other injuries, fine wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, rhinophyma and precancerous skin patches.

Considering alternative procedures

If you're planning "surface repairs" on your face, you may also be considering chemical peel, an alternative method of surgically removing the top layer of skin. However, dermabrasion and dermaplaning use surgical instruments to remove the affected skin layers, while chemical peel uses a caustic solution.

Many plastic surgeons perform all three procedures, selecting one or a combination of procedures to suit the individual patient and the problem. Others prefer one technique for all surface repairs. In general, chemical peel is used more often to treat fine wrinkles, and dermabrasion and dermaplaning for deeper imperfections such as acne scars.

A non-chemical approach may also be preferred for individuals with slightly darker skin, especially when treating limited areas of the face since dermabrasion and dermaplaning are less likely to produce extreme changes and contrasts in skin color.

DERMAL FILLERS

Minimally Invasive Procedures

Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow's feet become more apparent.

The facial skin also stretches a bit, adding to this loss of facial volume. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity and lifestyle.

What dermal fillers can do:

  • Plump thin lips

  • Enhance shallow contours

  • Soften facial creases and wrinkles

  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars

  • Reconstruct contour deformities in the face

  • Decrease or remove the shadow of the lower lids

Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.

What dermal fillers can't do

For some patients, surgery such as a facelift, brow lift or eye lift may be the best approach. Minimally invasive rejuvenation treatments, such as soft tissue fillers, cannot achieve the same results, but may help delay the time when consideration of a facelift becomes appropriate. It is important to remember that dermal fillers are temporary treatments for facial aging and that ongoing treatments will be needed for long-term results.

FACETITE

Minimally Invasive Procedure

FaceTite is a new procedure that is comparable to a surgical facelift, without the scars. FaceTite provides dramatic improvement in skin laxity on the face and neck, which was previously only attainable through a surgical procedure such as a facelift. FaceTite utilizes
minimally invasive radiofrequency energy to melt fat and tighten skin.

What kind of of procedure is required?
FaceTite is a minimally-invasive procedure performed under local anesthesia or light sedation. Post procedure, patients can go home and resume regular activities shortly after. Wearing a compression garment is required for best results.

What areas can be treated?
Any areas on the face and neck with saggy skin can be treated. This includes the double chin, j
owls and other areas with deep lines and loose skin.

How is this better than a facelift?
By avoiding an excisional facelift procedure, patients will be scar free and will benefit from reduced post-procedural swelling and discomfort. This is a less traumatic process with a natural looking final result.

How quickly will you see results?
Results can be seen immediately, with best results noticeable after 6 months, and continuing up to 12 months.

BODYTITE

Minimally Invasive Procedures

BodyTite is a great solution for individuals who are looking to reduce fat without the saggy, wrinkly skin. It also helps improve skin laxity after weight loss or due to aging. BodyTite is a minimally invasive procedure that shapes, contracts and lifts without the scalpel or scar. BodyTite uses RFAL (Radio-Frequency Assisted Lipolysis) technology that addresses some of the shortcomings associated with traditional liposuction or surgical body lifts.

What areas can be treated?
If you can imagine it, you can do it: stomach, arms, chest, knees and inner/outer thighs are s
ome of the most common treatment zones. Multiple areas can be treated in one visit. Each zone will take approximately 15 minutes of treatment.

How quickly will I see results?
Results can be seen immediately, with best results noticeable after 6 months, and continuing up to 12 months.

What is the downtime?
Depending on the treatment area, downtime can be from 1-2 days up to 10 days.

BodyTite effects:
BodyTite gently treats fat in stubborn areas while tightening the skin, helping you sculpt your body into its ultimate shape.

LUMECCA

Minimally Invasive Procedure

Patients who have age spots, sun damage, vessels and rosacea can expect superior clearance in 1-3 treatment versus 4-6 compared to the standard IPL. Most patients who are exposed to the sun for long periods of time will notice brown spots appear along their face, chest, hands
and other parts of their body. This is common; however, most patients do seek treatment in our office to rid of these blemishes. Whether your areas of concern are brown or red, our IPL can exceed your expectations in getting the clearance you desire.

What is Lumecca?
Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. Lumecca operates using photothermolysis, which provides a photo facial through the delivery of a comfortable light treatment.

What are the benefits?
In just 1-3 sessions Lumecca improves the appearance of:

Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)
•Vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins) and poikiloderma
•Rosacea (redness)
•Freckles
•Sun damage

What areas can be treated?
Lumecca can be used on all areas of the body. The most common areas of treatment are zones that are regularly exposed to the sun. This often includes the face, neck, décolletage, legs, hands and arms.

What steps must be taken before the procedure?
Avoid direct, excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to treatment.

What should I expect during and after lumecca?
During treatment there will be a bright flash of light from the Lumecca that feels like a light elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigmented spots; in the week afterwards, the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening out of skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

How many sessions are required?
An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session. Multiple sessions provide even better results. Treatment regime depends on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage) and energy settings.

How quickly will I see results?
Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after the first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple photo facial sessions will improve the final result. For vascular
treatments such as facial telangiectasias, results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.

Are there any side effects?

Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning.

MORPHEUS8

Minimally Invasive Procedures

Morpheus8 is a new subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) that fractionally remodels and contours the face and body. Penetrating deep into the skin and fat, this morphs the aging face of body into a more desired smooth and sleek appearance, for all skin tones. Morpheus8 has the ability to penetrate deeper into the skin than any other microneedling device, going as deep as 4mm. Patient comfort is a major advantage of this device because of the sharper needles and tiny punctures it causes in the skin without tugging or pulling. M8 can be used for, but is not limited to treating wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks surgical scars and more.

What is MORPHEUS8?
MORPHEUS8 is a fractional skin treatment that s
timulates collagen production of the underlying layers of the dermis. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, the building blocks will reorganize themselves in a natural anti-aging process. MORPHEUS8 is very unique as it can penetrate 4mm deep, which results in fat melting so you can truly contour and morph different
parts of the body.

What areas can be treated?
Morpheus8 can be used on any areas that can benefit from sub-dermal renewal. The most commonly treated areas include the lower face and neck. Areas of the face and body that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring are suitable for treatment.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your Morpheus8 treatment regime you can expect to have between 1-3 sessions. It also depends how aggressive your treatment is and the severity of laxity and skin quality. I suggest always selling packages of 3 for optimal results.

How quickly will I see results?
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after treatment.

How long should I wait in between treatments?
4 weeks

What is the benefit of the fractionated energy?
Fractionated RF energy is a scientifically proven method to reduce wrinkles and rebuild collagen and fat. It is minimally invasive, using a matrix of micro pins to renew deeper layers of the skin with almost no patient downtime.

Can anyone use MORPHEUS8?
The benefit of Morpheus8’s color blind technology is that it can be used on all skin types. The unique properties allow even darker tones to be treated.

What is the benefit of rf energy?

RF energy heats the deep layers of the skin in a controlled way to revitalize the collagen. The
treatment will improve skin complexion and texture for a more radiant and youthful appearance.

Can this be used in combination with other treatments?
Yes, Morpheus8 can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments.

When can I put make-up on after treatment?
Since patient downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied 1 to 2 days after the treatment. Patients should expect to see micro lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to 1 week depending on treatment parameters.

What kind of post procedure care is required?
Patients should moisturize the treatment area and avoid direct sun exposure. It is also recommended that patients use a good, broad spectrum sunscreen every day. In addition to reducing their future risk of skin cancer, sunscreens also reduce wrinkles and slow the aging process.
